Week9 Activity: Handmade model 4&5, 100 words statement As I still have two more models to finish to have 5 handmade models for submission, I decided to create two models of my ideal workshop/ working spaces. Handmade model progress: Model4: - how to bring natural light into the space I think this architecture would be my ideal working space as it can be seen that the interior light created by the layers and the smooth texture of the wall make the architecture stand out from the environment. 6 layers in total dimension for each layer (height*width*length): 1.2m*4m*4m material used is paper in cream progress: Because this model is in scale of 1:50, each layer is made by a strip of paper with dimension 2.4cm*32cm. the width of the door is 3cm (1.5m) each layer is stacked on top of each other, and adjust the angle between them depends on the shadow I wanted to create final top view of the model Photographs  In order to ...

FINAL SUBMISSION -100 words statement The title of this project is 'Materials and Light'. This project aims to explore how different ideas forms and materials are able to present spaces in many unique ways with natural light. The choice of materials is an essential element on allowing the natural light entering into the space in different forms and create different sensation in one space. In my fifth model, it was focused on the material combination of cardboard and tracing paper, which is flexible on adjusting the forms of light on the space: tracing paper allows the natural light to enter the space in a softer form, which would not create any shadow; while cardboard forms a physically solid wall to block the natural light. Week 5 Activity model floor plan: 1. Paper Model of space of room this model was made in the scale 1:10 curtain door overall view 2.
