Activity 1: Fusion360 initial model material rendering

Material Combination1: Granite and Water

This material combination is inspired by one of my favourite place to visit- aquarium.


Material Combination2: Bamboo and Oak

inspiration photos:

This material combination of bamboo and wood is always one of my favourite style to go for for any furniture pieces. The smooth texture and coordinated colour combination of two materials always give the furniture pieces a calm and clean feeling.

Material Combination 3: frosted glass and pine

This material combination is inspired from a slide door in my house which is a very classic material combination in all household:



Activity 2: Handmade Model Progress Model 3


A new model was made using combination of cardboard and paper. It is in scale 1:50. This model can effectively show the thickness of the wall of the space. Model 3 is created based on my room/ working space at home, but some parts of the space is changed: as I want to focus on the light source from the cardboard layers, both door and window are enclosed in this model.

It was built with layers of paper and cardboard from the bottom to top: one layer of paper and one layer of cardboard on top, etc.

Week8 Activity(2): Photoshop Material Rendering RENDER1 Inspiration: Because I have also found the industrial Architecture style aesthetic and interesting, so I decided to include the industrial style into my material photoshop rendering. photoshop transformation progress: original photographs  ⇓ photograph after textures applied ⇓ original background photo found on pinterest  ⇓ final render- model is located at the left bottom corner During the photoshop process, I realised that the brightness of the model does not match up with the background after the initial texture applied, so that brightness and contrast of the image are adjusted.
